Persian carpet
This carpet comes from Persia (formerly Persia) and, as a Persian carpet, enjoys the best reputation among all hand-woven carpets. No region can look back on such a long tradition of carpet weaving as Persia. The finest and most exquisite carpets are created here.
The robustness, longevity and quality of Persian knots are still unsurpassed today. Persian carpets are usually named after their place of origin. Grandmother (North Wales)-, Qum (Qom) and Isfahan-Carpets come from the cities of the same name in Persia. Find out more about Kashmar carpets here…
Handspun Wool
This rug is made from hand-spun wool of the highest quality. Especially in Persia (formerly Persia), in Afghanistan. and Pakistan, the wool is spun by hand before the actual carpet weaving begins. Over the centuries, wool has proven itself to be a natural and extremely durable material. It is stain resistant and thermally insulated. At the same time, wool offers unparalleled softness and a natural shine.
hand knotting
Traditionally handwoven carpets meet the highest quality standards of all carpet types. Depending on the type of knot, the rug is extremely robust and can last for generations. The finer and firmer the carpet tied is, the more fine decorations and patterns can be depicted on the pile.
At the same time, very fine oriental carpets require handwork and a high level of experience and skill on the part of the weaver. Knot density is also an important factor for handwoven carpets, although quality does not necessarily depend on knot density. A comparatively coarse carpet can still be of the highest quality.
